Operating principle:
TOMRA's FPS is a robust, high capacity potato sorter for use in the separation of most foreign material from unwashed potatoes and other root crops.
FPS has proven itself invaluable in heavy ground conditions where its unique vision system accurately separates dirt clods, rocks, wood, bone, plastic, glass, metal, rubber and more.
Capacity: 15 – 70 tons per hour, dependent on the model
Sensor technology:
The FPS uses unique multi-spectral NIR (Near Infra-Red) sensors to scan each individual item ‘in flight’. This allows for an unobstructed view of the product with a high capacity sort. The sensors analyze for soil clods, stones and foreign material.
Gentle product handling is assured by design; the first accepted grade gently passes through the sorting machine while the second grade with soil clods, stones, and foreign materials, are sorted out by intelligent finger ejectors with precision and accuracy.
